Our story unfolds on the day leading up to Lunar New Year and explodes into expressive narratives and exuberant dancing in a variety of celebrations. Explore many cultural customs and traditions among the majority Han group of China, as well as unique expressions of its minority groups. Created by Artistic Director Jinyu Zhou, “Hello New Year” is CAAM Chinese Dance Theater’s latest world premiere ninety-minute Chinese dance program. Featuring original choreography by Jinyu Zhou, Lily Teng, CAAM CDT’s Retired Artistic Director, and Ao Liu, CAAM CDT’s Performance Director, this beloved story for the whole family will delight and surprise.
