Paint to Express Workshop
PAINT TO EXPRESS Come as you are to paint, explore, and connect with your fellow painters. Memorialize the Movement will provide all attendees with free painting supplies – no experience necessary! This relaxing workshop is a space for reflection and community conversations. Although all are welcome, this is a Black, Indigenous, and People of Color centered workshop as safe spaces to express ourselves are not always available. This space is for you to show up as you are and be your authentic self. BRUNCH INCLUDED! This workshop includes (free!) brunch for all participants. Please note that while this workshop is free, registration is required to allow appropriate planning for catering. Register today! Memorialize the Movement will provide all painters with a 12×12 inch plywood board that serves as a canvas. After the workshop, keep your piece to take home or leave it with MTM. If it’s left with MTM, it will join the Plywood Quilt; a collage of previous workshop artworks all brought together to create one large piece that depicts the rich emotions and experiences of our community. The donated pieces from this workshop will be in an April exhibition at The Catherine G. Murphy Gallery on St. Kate’s campus. Dates: April 12-May 17, 2025 Location: West wing of The Catherine G. MONDO Juggling & Unicycle Arts Presents: MONDO Spectacular Variety Show

See Ticket Office information here. The MONDO Spectacular is a family friendly variety show. There will be unicycling, juggling, and comedy…. as well as fun surprises. This show should not be missed! The MONDO festival is a three-day extravaganza of juggling, unicycling, and related arts. The largest annual gathering of jugglers and unicyclists in the Midwest, MONDO will be held in the Gangelhoff Center at Concordia University from February 28-March 2, 2025. Now in its 36th year, MONDO includes games, practice space, and the chance to learn new skills in workshops. There will also be vendors offering a variety of goods and services, including props for juggling, unicycling, kendama, yo-yo, and more. All are welcome at both the Festival and the Spectacular Variety Show. Rince na Chroi Irish Dancers Present: From the Stage to Your Heart 2025

See Ticket Office information here. The Rince na Chroi Irish Dancers, the largest Irish Dance school in Saint Paul, present their annual “From the Stage to your Heart” performance! Join them for an evening featuring their 200 dancers from ages 3 all the way through adult dancers and wonderful music by the Two Tap Trio dance band and Wild Colonial Bhoys. You will feel these dancers love and passion for the art form of Irish Dance in the most energetic and vibrant way. The Loft Presents: An Evening on Banned Books ft. Carmen Maria Machado, Part of the Loft’s Lit!Series
The approximate run time of the event will be between 60-75 minutes with no intermission. Join the Loft Literary Center for its second Lit!Series event of the year featuring October’s Keynote, Carmen Maria Machado! This conversation will be centered around the topic of banned books and the wave of literary censorship that is facing teachers, students, librarians, and authors across the country. Carmen will be joined in conversation by authors Safia Elhillo, Jake Maia Arlow, and Ashley Hope Pérez as they discuss their work and their own experiences having books banned or challenged in schools and libraries. Books by our featured authors will be available for sale and the onstage program will be followed by a book signing reception.The Loft Lit!Series is a weekend-long gathering for readers and writers with a goal of providing a community-centric literary experience for all and exposing participants to new books, authors, and ideas. Each weekend features a variety of programs to engage in, including craft seminars led by published authors, one-on-one meetings with agents and editors to help guide emerging writers on their own journeys, lunchtime learning sessions, and a centerpiece conversation featuring our Keynote Speaker and Visiting Teaching Artists on a selected theme. The Moth Project
The approximate run time of the event is 70 minutes with no intermission. David Attenborough meets Laurie Anderson in The MOTH PROJECT, a new production from Peter Kiesewalter, GRAMMY-nominated and EMMY-winning creator of the East Village Opera Company (“Highbrow and brilliant!” – New York Magazine). Blending music, family history, and moth lore, The MOTH PROJECT brings art and science together in entirely original and unexpected ways. The 70 minute show features two musicians performing a genre-defying range of music – from Bach to Joni Mitchell to KISS to original songs – while a stunningly integrated visual tour of images are projected onto them, enveloping them into a strange and remarkable world. The 3-Women Project by TU Dance

The 3-Women Project features choreographic works from three internationally renowned black female artists, Stefanie Batten Bland, Alanna Morris, and Yusha-Marie Sorzano, who have created work individually, while simultaneously seeking to explore and discover synergistic and unifying themes. These three dynamic and award-winning dance artists share their distinctly strong voices and their deep investment and investigations into their own artistic practice and identity as black women. TU Dance is excited to engage with our community and to share and celebrate the perspectives of these three incredibly talented women. ABOUT TU DANCE: The award-winning TU Dance is known for its diverse artistic performances tackling important questions around gender, race, social justice, history, human resilience and more. Founded in 2004, TU Dance has received dozens of accolades and awards while touring nationwide. Under the artistic direction of Toni Pierce-Sands, TU Dance continues to be a leading dance company in the Twin Cities.
