As the ancient Chinese ancestors explored the mysteries of the universe, the Five Elements (Wuxing) theory—centered on Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water—was born. These five elements, drive the creation and transformation of all things. Corresponding to the five elements are the five colors—Green, Red, Yellow, White, and Black— which infuse vibrancy into the humbleness of daily life. These colors encapsulate the essence of all creation. Over centuries of cultural evolution, they have formed a uniquely enchanting Chinese “palette.”The dance performance “Ablaze with Color” draws its inspiration from these five color families, seamlessly blending them with China’s rich traditions, cultural customs, and historical heritage.
