Celebrating the longest night and shortest day, the rebirth of the Sun and the promise of springtime, The O’Shaughnessy welcomes Katie, the Balkan sounds of special guest musicians Orkestar Bez Ime and Corda Mor Irish Dancers as they regale the audience with festive songs and ancient traditions.

Katie and her band of brilliant musicians – Karen Mueller (autoharp, guitar and hurdy-gurdy), Zack Kline (fiddle and octave fiddle), Marc Anderson (percussion) – talented singers Tim Jay, Erik Pratt and Jenny Russ, and 20 Corda Mor Irish Dancers, will take the audience on a musical journey spanning 3,000 years. From ancient Irish solstice celebrations, through traditional English wassailing to present day carols that illuminate the magic of winter.

Dubbed Minnesota’s own “Celtic Woman,” Katie McMahon is best known as the original voice of Riverdance. She has graced the stage of The O’Shaughnessy for over 10 years, offering one of the theater’s liveliest holiday programs. Her ode to the holidays always celebrates the season with a family-friendly program of Christmas songs, stories and lively Irish dance.
