Fellowship For Performing Arts Presents – C.S. Lewis On Stage: Further Up & Further In

Using Lewis’ own words, this dazzling, multi-media theatrical event explores: Why the BBC gave him a huge audience to deliver wartime talks that would become Mere Christianity. How Hitler influenced the writing of The Screwtape Letters. How his profound insights on the divinity of Christ, prayer, heaven, and the Second Coming influenced The Chronicles of Narnia. Please join St. Catherine University’s Fashion Department for our Katwalk Fashion Show on Saturday, April 27th at The Frey Theater in the O’Shaughnessy at St. Catherine University. Our annual runway showcases the hard work that the fashion design and merchandising students created. Highlights include the senior capstone collections, the junior mini-collections, and sustainable, creative designs throughout the program. Katwalk will have two showings. Choose from two showtimes one at 5:00 p.m. and another at 7:00 p.m. A reception follows the final show giving guests an opportunity to chat with the designers and see their work up close. Our up-and-coming designers make this a runway a show you won’t want to miss. Katwalk is created and produced by St. Catherine University Fashion Association; a student run fashion club dedicated to showing innovative student work and building professional outreach opportunities for our students. *ASL Interpretation will be provided at this event

The approximate run time of the event is 105 minutes with a fifteen minute intermission. James Sewell Ballet leaps onto the stage with bold new works. Featured is the highly-anticipated choreographies of two guest choreographers and old friends of the company. Shohei Iwahama (former JSB dancer and current member of Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo) brings an expansive group work that emanates curiosity, play, and kinship. And Michael Walters returns with his fourth choreographic commission with a passionate duet, at moments both gritty and gentle. This remarkable evening includes two Sewell works: a new sextet that blends classical and contemporary ballet within Bach’s ‘Concerto for Violin & Oboe’; and a remount of ‘Doo-Be-Doo’, which combines high-energy playful antics with stunning technical feats. *For patrons who would like to control the volume of their listening experience, assistive listening devices and sensory ear plugs are available upon request at the Ticket Office. Step into the enchanting world of Fables, Tales, and Morals… Oh My! where classic stories come to life with a modern twist. This whimsical production combines timeless fables, fantastical tales and thought-provoking morals. In this captivating dance production, the spotlight in the first act turns on the misunderstood misfits of classic fairy tales. The Big Bad Wolf, Goldilocks, and the Troll take center stage as their untold backstories unfold, revealing the vulnerabilities and challenges that shaped them into the perceived villains in the classic tales of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Three Billy Goats Gruff, and The Three Little Pigs.The second act fuses “The Emperor’s New Clothes”, and “The Tortoise and The Hare” in Fabletown. The emperor challenges the animals to a grand race, with a swindler-woven illusionary robe for the winner, triggering an overconfident hare to compete against the steady tortoise.Please note that ticket prices include a $2 per ticket O’Shaughnessy fee.
