The future is female--and Finnish.
Celebrate the 100th anniversary of Finland's independence with four of the most beloved ladies of the Finnish music world.
Direct from Finland, Maiji Kauhanen is a dynamic, one-women band and virtuoso of the Saarijärvi kantele (Finnish harp). Violinist/vocalist Sara Pajunen (USA) and accordionist Teija Niku (Finland) join musical forces in Aallotar, a chamber folk ensemble with a contemporary Finnish twist. And Diane Jarvi, known in Finland as the Minnesotan Satakieli (Nightingale) blends her compositions and poetry into haunting acoustic melodies. Together, these songs and stories promise an unforgettable evening you won't want to miss.
This concert is part of FinnFest USA 2017, running September 21-24.
